Default Sachs Struts: Anybody got them?

On my 2007 the OEM struts started getting squeaky at 65K miles.

I priced out KYBs and Monroe, and found one online place that sells Sachs. About $450 for the whole setup, F/R struts/shocks, mounts, boots/bumpers, spring isolators, etc.

Monroe or KYB run about $350, and genuine Nissan (which I think are KYB) would cost over $500 even from Courtesy.

Sachs is the German company ZF, and both BMW and Mercedes use Sachs AFAIK.

There are two different models of Sachs, the 'Advantage' and the 'Super Touring'. Super Touring is softer and the Advantage is 'extra handling and stability' (possibly harsher).

I noticed the 2013 Altima uses Sachs struts.

So am I the 'first on the block' to put Sachs on my Maxima, or have others here already done that?

Unfortunately I'm not familiar with the Sachs struts or have seen any Maxima with Sachs. This morning I checked with my shop parts suppliers, and none of them carry Sachs. KYB for struts, boots, months and bumpers for $350 is really a good price, that's about the same price we can get it at the shop

Not meaning to promote any particular site, the company rockauto has sachs, but they are the only one I've seen.

Even from them it might be a special order item since, for example, the Sachs rear shocks I had in my shopping cart last week are no longer listed.

SACHS Part # 312178 Supertouring Strut; Front Right A $86.79 (left is 312179)

SACHS Part # 802925 is strut mount with bearing, 42.79 ea

I misplaced the part number for the shocks, but I think it's 206 95A or 312 177 at around $45 ea, + $8 for hardware kit, + $4 for new boot.

Like I said, call me crazy, but if I can get these, I am gonna try em. Since Nissan is advertising the use of Sachs struts in 2013 Altima, I would assume they're good.

Default Same dilemma here

Hi Nissan2007,
Stumbled upon your message here, while looking to answer the same question, only in 2015 now - KYB or Sachs for 2007 Maxima.
Just wondering if you went ahead with Sachs back then and what your experience was like?

Anyone who has Sachs shocks or struts on their 6 Gen Maxima is also welcome to share!
