Default 1999 Maxima problem please help

I own a 99 Nissan Maxima, and have been trying to figure out what my problem is for months. So i had a check engine light on i checked the codes that triggered the light(s) and it came back with 1. multi cylinder misfire 2. Knock sensor. I was noticing that the car would misfire within the first 5-10 min of driving it for anywhere between 1-5 min and the car would idle fairly rough my guess at that point triggering the knock sensor. Usually it would go away after that but sometimes it would happen 2-3 times a few minutes apart. I cant remember it misfiring again once the car was nice and hot, but the car always idles a bit rough.

I replaced the plugs with oem platinum plugs. I wanted to check the ignition coils as that has been one of the most common solutions Ive heard of for this problem, but im not sure exactly how to check them. So I'm hoping someone can help me with the solution to this problem, or at least point me in the right direction. Thanks so much for any help you might be able to throw my way.

You can purchase a Chiltons repair mannual on your vehical and it has a proceedure for checking ignition coils and has the ranges in which you are supposed to be in for your car. If you have a bad knock sensor this may be causing your multi cylinder misfire sense the knock sensor is one of the controlers in the firing of your coils.

Try replacing the knock sensor but more than likely it's one or more of the coils.Common problem with that model.Reading the coils will not always work as they tend to read good then bad as they get hot.

when you put our code reader on the car it does not tell which coil is misfiring. I had a multi misfire as you on a 2003 passat and it told me the which cylinders was mis firing. it ended up not being the coils on the passat the ECM needed to be reprogramed had to bring to dealer.
