IAC/ECU 2001 maxima problems
I have a 2001 nissan maxima, we had to change the IAC in nov and I drove it for about a month then it cooked the ECU and now it won't idle again. Will I do more damage to the car if I continue to drive it like this? what should my course of action be? it will idle after it warms up.

The engine mounts cooked the ecm. Unplug them.

Your car has electronic engine mounts that are controlled by the ecm. The mounts short internally and burn out the circuit in the ecm. That circuit runs right next to the iacv circuit which also gets burned out in the process. You can unplug the mounts and you won't notice any difference in the way the car feels. Sometimes if you catch it early enough unplugging the mounts will correct the problem. If it doesn't you will have to replace the ecm. DO NOT RECONNECT THE MOUNTS AFTER YOU REPACE THE ECM.
