ECU /ECM replacement fifth gen Maxima
Hello everyone, I would really appreciate some much needed help.
The vehicle is actually a 2001 i30, my question would I have a problem using an ecu out of a 2000 maxima without the traction control feature? since the i30 is not equipped with that option? Also would the ecu have to be from an automatic vehicle or would a manual ecm work? only reason I asked is because i noticed the automatics have their own TCM? thanks in advance and I already know, I will need to get the Keys reprogramed/ecu updated before starting the vehicle. |

You will need an ecm from the same year with the same options. It has to be the same part # that came out of your car.

Thank you for the Replay, its always good to hear advice from a master tech like yourself. This is definitely a great forum over here. I don't want to sound dumb but the ecu has many diff numbers on it, even two letters on it. Where exactly is the part number located on the ecu?
here is a ebay link with a good picture for reference. 00 MAXIMA ENGINE COMPUTER ECM ECU A56-PS4:eBay Motors (item 310134886747 end time Jul-09-09 10:20:53 PDT) also would lets say a 2001 maxima automatic w/o traction control (those are the specs of the i30) work fine with the infiniti?
