2007 NISSAN VERSA; MIL “ON” WITH DTC P1615 OR P1614 OR P1610 STORED AND ENGINE MAY NOT RESTART WHEN COLD
The MIL is “ON” with any of the following codes stored:
• DTC P1615 or P1614 or P1610.
AND
The engine does not restart in the following conditions
• The vehicle sat for several hours (cold soak) with outside temperatures below -12º C
(10º F); and
• The vehicle was then driven for a short period of time (5-10 minutes); and
• The engine was then turned OFF for a short time (5-10 minutes); then
• The engine cranks but will not start and the MIL illuminates with DTC P1615 or

P1614 or P1610

It appears I'm having this issue with my 2007 versa. What I'm seeing is that the car just won't start or won't turn over. The weather is -32c but the battery seems fine. All the lights come on as expected, radio, headlights, and even my car alarm. I am seeing the Brake, and battery light come on when I attempt to start the car. When I do try to start the car I can hear the starter trying as hard as it can to start.

Please let me know if you think this may be the problem I am having.

mementothegreat, is the engine light ON? have you checked for codes stored in the ECM? you should have the dealer take a look at it.

All of the dash board lights come on when inserting and turning the key. What I hear is a tick tick tick noise when attempting to start the car. The lights that do stay on after going to ACC are the Brake light and the battery light. I'm going to see if getting a boost will work and after that I'll take it to the shop. From what I've read people are having issues with the fuel pump during cold weather. Have you heard of this issue and could it result in a possible recall? From the amount of people complaining about the fuel pump during the cold I'm guessing it's a major issue.
