Default Ntb07-053 Altima Voluntary Campaign

A new entry has been added to Knowledgebase

Description:
2007 NISSAN ALTIMA; VOLUNTARY SERVICE CAMPAIGN INTELLIGENT KEY
For the 2007 Altima (Sedan and Hybrid); Nissan has determined that some cell phones, if allowed to touch the Intelligent Key when receiving or sending a call, may alter the electronic code contained in the Intelligent Key. If this happens, the Intelligent Key may be damaged and would no longer lock or unlock the doors or start the engine. To correct this
potential condition, Nissan is conducting a Voluntary Service Campaign to replace the Intelligent Keys. The improved replacement Intelligent Keys are not susceptible to this type of cell phone interference.

If the Intelligent Key is defective in this way, would it stop working altogether? My Intelligent Key works intermittently and I can't figure out why it doesn't work sometimes. Seems to me if it had been deprogrammed/messed up by my cell phone, it would be messed up for good and not work at all. But mine sometimes works and sometimes doesn't. Can someone confirm my logic, please?

It's possible, you should have the dealer perform the service campaign anyway.
