Default Pegged oil pressure

My 06 Nissan Frontier would not start yesterday. This morning it started but oil gauge is pegged, slip light is on and so is service engine soon. I turned it off and now it wont start. Any ideas ?

You fail to mention if it cranks and doesn't start or if it doesn't crank at all. Poor connections at the battery cable connections are quite common on these vehicles, so that would be the first place to check; make sure they are clean and tight. Then, have the battery tested, followed by the charging system once you get it running. If it's not a battery/charging system issue, then it would be best to get the trouble codes read. During an engine management malfunction, the traction control system is disabled, which would turn on those warning lights, so that "may" be the reason for the slip light. If it cranks and doesn't start, crank position sensor and cam position sensors are fairly common failures on the VQ40DE engine, so knowing what code is stored may help shed some light if that is the problem.
