Default What's my VIN Tell You? 'Cuz I don't know!

Please Help! I'm buying two Datsun's and I know exactly what the one is (1970 240SX - VIN HLS30-04044) but the other one which I thought was a '72 240SX has a VIN that I can't track down. XS3 0T6285475 Does this VIN mean anything to anyone here!

Thanks

First off, the cars you listed as 240SX based on the low VIN # are in fact the Datsun Z cars produced from 1969 - 1978 as 240Z, 260Z, 280Z as first gen. Z design. Other than sharing the 240 name but the 240SX is totally unrelated cars introduced in 1989.

Could it be the second vehicle is HS30 (not SX30) and is it Right Hand drive? These vehicles went to AU, U.K., etc. Supposedly some HS30 models were sold to collectors in North America. The HLS30 the Left Hand drive were sold in North America.

Default VINs and Models

Hi, When I signed up for the site here it didn't list a 240z or a 280z as a choice so I just randomly picked a model. But the cars I have are 1970 240z and and 1976 280z. We've determined that the VIN on the 280z's ownership is just wrong for some reason. We have to proove to the MTO that the correct VIN is HLS30 85475 and they will change it. A few hoops to jump through but hopefully not a gazillion hoops!

Now that I have the cars, I'm looking for the location of the engine codes - particularly on the 240z. The manufacture date is May of 1970 and all the VIN numbers match so far on all the body parts - just looking to see if the engine has been changed.
