Default Nissan to skip auto show

I was reading that Nissan will skip the 2010 Detroit Auto Show for the second consecutive time and it also plans to skip about 50 more local auto shows.

What do you guys think about auto shows? do you go to the shows? Personally I don't like the auto shows, I'll rather go to SEMA where I can see mods and special things for the cars. The auto show here in LA, CA is great, with a lot of concept cars and cars, but most of the cars are just regular cars that I can see every day a the dealer.

In a way it shows Nissan is being careful with the funds. These auto show get alot of media coverage, but they must feel it provides no benefit for sales.
