Nissan doesn't have one big wire diagram for all the electrical parts of the vehicle, instead it has separate wire diagrams for every component or control unit. We can upload the wire diagram here for you. What section in particular would you like? headlights? radio? engine sensor?

wiring diagram
what i'm trying to do is turn my fog lights into daytime running lights. (currently my fog lights only work when i have headlights on). i plan on making a seperate wire harness, and not use the current fog light system. i have purchased h-11 plugs and seperate switch, plus 16gauge wire. i plan on hooking to the ignition side of a circuit, so the fog light system will work only when the car is runnig.(i have found a wire that is on the ignition side that i plan on using. i do not know what this wire currently operates that i plan on tacking into. is this a good idea? thanks in advance

As long as you fuse the lights you'll be OK. I think you just want a hot circuit when the key is on. I suggest you use a relay to switch the fog-light power (H11 lamps do pull some current) with the relay's control coil hooked to your switch source and ground.
The Canadian version of the truck has a daylight running system installed that uses the high beam elements thru some installed relays. Have you looked into that as a possibility? |

If you go to the link I've provided below, it shows how to use relays to drive lights on a classic mustang. It works the same on any Nissan (or any automotive application) also except you only really need one relay instead of two. Instead of using the head light switch to power the relay coil you install a switch on your dash that's powered by the ign source you said you already have determined and wire that in as the source of power for the relay coil. Using a relay is a much safer way to add a high current device.

2012 Xterra Wiring
Can you point me to a wiring diagram for my 2012 Pro 4X brakes? I'd like to add a brake light strobe module. I've added the LED bulbs and they appear to work just fine.
Thanks. |

You'll need to subscribe to the forum ($12.95/1 year) and you can download the entire Factory Service Manual. At that price, it's one hell of a good deal. I paid close to $50 for my manual back in 2005. Once you have the manual, I can help you with almost any question on the circuit.

If you are looking for connection help,
The stop lamps are shown on sheet EXL-105. Depending on what lamps you want to flash, I would suggest you use the wire connected to Pin 11 of M16 for the high mounted lamp, the wire attached to pin 5 of the C15 for the rear lamps (feeds pin 1 of the rear lamps) or the wire going to junction of pin 30C of E41 and 40G of E152 for both. |

Thanks -- that got me to the right volume, but the stop lamp wiring diagram is on page EXL-112 in my copy. My main concern is wire color and connection location. Now that you've pointed me in the right direction I think I can find where I need to be. That's a definite maybe...
Many thanks for the help! |

Well, now I need help finding the physical locations of the connectors shown in the wiring diagram. If you could point me to the wiring color code that would also be a help. Thanks.

The wire colors are specified on different pages in EXL than the actual wiring diagram. Look for your connector # and there should be a pin out Try the trailer tow circuits if you don't find what you're looking for.
