2011 Frontier brake rotor size
I took my truck to a local garage for an oil change and check up. They found a problem with the front brakes. The pads were worn almost completely 3/4 of the way up but not at all on the top of the pad. This was because the pads were sticking above the top of the rotors. The truck has 28,000 miles on it. The shop found that there are 2 size rotors on 2011 trucks, smaller dia for 4 cyl trucks and larger dia for 6 cyl. trucks. My truck is a 6 cyl but appears to have 4 cyl size rotors which causes the brake pads to stick above the rotors ans were funny. I went to my local Nissan dealer where I bought the truck and they told me there is only one rotor for 2011 frontiers and it was seen all the time that pads move up on the rotor. I don't see how this is possible as there are retaining clips on the pads. Is this dealer giving me the run around or has anyone else seen this problem?

Follow up
Just as a follow up to the original post: I called Nissan customer service and started a case. They told me there are indeed 2 size rotors for 2011 Frontiers. 4 cylinder trucks have 11 1/8 Dia. Rotors and 6 cylinder truck have 11 5/8 Dia. rotors. After a visual inspection by the dealer, it was determined I had a 6 cylinder truck that was built with 4 cylinder rotors. This caused the pads to hang over the edge of the rotor and wear in a step. To make a long story short, Nissan replaced my rotors, pads and hardware for free to bring my truck to proper specs. A word to the wise, check you rotor size!
