Default SES light and catalytic converters

Just got back from nissan with the service engine soon light on. They claim the catalytic converters on the left side need to be replaced (I guess there is two on each side). Anyone know the warranty info on this part. Seems awfully early to be replacing catalytic converters to the tune of $1400 on a 8 year old vehcile with 83000 miles (135000 km's).

Cheers!

Unfortunately the catalytic converts are cover for 8 years/80,000 miles whichever occurs first.

You can find more information in the warranty booklet: Knowledgebase - Warranty Booklet - Nissanhelp.com Forums

You may try calling Nissan: 1-800-NISSAN-1, but I doubt they will anything to help you.

Looks like the ses light went out on it's own last night. Glitchy system. If it comes on again I'll beg nissan and see what they can do.

Cheers!

you can find converters cheaper, but the problems is getting to the front bolts to remove the old one. Anyone have any secrets for that ? 2005 frontier
