Welcome to Nissanhelp.com forums!!
You should have the O/D drive always ON for normal condition driving, towing or not towing. Try using O/D only when driving up and down long slopes where engine braking is necessary. Having the O/D ON all the time will also increase your fuel mileage.

Along this line then, I flat tow my 95 Bronco with my 05 Frontier Nismo, should I have my OD on or OFF? I kept it off. My Bronco, when ready for the trails, tips about 6000 lbs.
