Default 1997 Nissan hardbody not charing battery

I have a 1997 Nissan hard body that will not charge any batteries that i use.I have a new alternator and battery.I take the battery cable lose and the truck still runs until i turn on the head lights.I have a new ground cable from the battery to engine block.Please any help

The charging system for your 97 Hardbody is very simple, and there is nothing else that control the charging. If you know for sure that the alternator is OK, and the battery is OK, then it must be a blown fuse or broken wire. Just keep in mind that just because the alternator or the battery are new, it doesn't mean that are in good conditions. I have seen many bad new alternator and batteries.

Thank you so much for the reply.I will go to Napa in the morning and try one of the Bosch 60amp alternator.The battery was a die hard brand new from Sears works great.
