01 Frontier 3.3 liter: Timing belt age?
Have 35,000 miles. Recent Nissan service advised changing belt, water pump, etc. despite only 35k miles (and quoted $1150! w/ water pump). Said age deteriorates belt. This seems a little conservative to me. I cannot find any "official" recommendations about this maintenance based on age rather than mileage. Can I wait a little longer? How much longer? As one can see from the mileage I do not use this truck every day nor for long trips.

The timing belt is 7 years or 105K miles. I do agree with the service advisor. Unfortunately it is recommended to replaced the timing belt around that time, but since your Frontier has low mileage you may push it a little bit longer.
