Default MPG, on Pickups?

I have a 1988 Pickup, 2.4L, Auto Tranny, short bed, std cab, 2WD.

As stated on other posts, have only had it for a little while, it's in great shape and I like it a lot.

I would like to know what is the factory stated gas mileage? I got 13.8 MPG on my first tank., thought that was bad. Is it?

For this fillup, I changed plugs (8), checked timing, replaced cracked vacuum hoses, replaced oxy sensor, replaced air filter, cleaned PCV filter, checked brakes for dragging.

Thanks!

You should be closer to 23.8. If it's fuel injected, you ABSOLUTELY NEED to know fuel pressure. And NOT JUST for MPG diagnosis.

Easy as checking the air in the tire. Borrow a gauge from Advance / Zone. See youtube for reference vids. Post back here for EXACT testing procedure from yours truly. You NEED to know that it will reach proper pressure, AND HOLD it once reached...

Where do you drive it? Around town it's probably not going to be more than 18 or so. If you had a MT it would have better MPG. My 86.5 - D21 - 2.4 - 5 speed got 16 around town and 22 or so on the highway.

Thanks!
Four or five more MPG would be acceptable. I don't drive it much, mostly stop and go with about 30% at 60 mph, so I don't expect tops MPG.

I will pursue the fuel pressure thing, didn't think of that and yes I need guidance with it.
