Default No brake lights, HELP 05 frontier v6

Well my brake lights on my trailer quit working so I started fulling with the harness, come to find out the ground and brake light was backwards on the truck compared to the trailer. So I switch them on the 6 pole plug, bingo it worked for a few minutes. Then my brake lights go out, on the trailer, and the truck, the brake light above the cab and both sides.

I tried tracking fuses, all seem to be good, but I can not get power on the red/black wire on the switch on the foot pedal, I have no idea where this wire goes, it just say 10a on my wiring diagrams . According to the hanes the yellow wire goes to the back for the brakes so I put 12v just to make sure nothing was burned up from back bumper to the break pedal and they came on fine. But the plug where the red/black, yellow, and 2 other wires plug into the foot switch there are no hots.

This is an aftermarket trailer 6 pole kit from wal-mart, I figured nissans where just like any other truck and should be a splice and play deal but boy has this been a head ache. I need some serious help because I have no brake lights even with the trailer kit up plugged.

Did your truck come with the wire harness installed? It's a nissan part to help prevent over loaded circuits. One is located under the dash near your right foot, the other is located on passenger side behind the right kick panel.

You need to check all of the fuses with a test light.
