Hello and thanks for reading this post/thread.

Need to replace front rotors and pads ... (115K miles on it, just had 4-wheel alignment and tire balance done, still shaking a lot).

Figuring it needs rotors and pads, would like to try to do it myself. I am not a novice but not exactly a mechanic either.

Anyone done this? Is it difficult - or actually how easy or difficult is it? Wondering if there are any gotcha's, tricks or inherent rough areas of this project.

Thanks, and I apologize if this question is lacking in details a bit....

I have no been through 3 trailer wiring power converters, all installed by the dealer and all have been fried. Trailer lights stay on (sometimes with key out of ignition) when the issue occurs. Just in case it was the trailer, I tried another one on the latest converter and had the same result. The lights all work fine initially, but at some point I notice they stay on, with no signals or hazards. The converter is a hoppy powered unit, is the dealer installing the wrong part? They told me Nissan doesn't make a converter and they don't know what to do next. Being that I negotiated the harness installation into the deal when I bought the van I feel they owe me a functioning wiring harness. (They charged me labor on the last replacement but I talked them into splitting it 50%)

I've had a very soft pedal for a while now. I replaced front and rear pads and rotors with Nissan OE. I drained the fluid and added synthetic and bled the system multiple times. The brakes are there, but they still seem very soft. What is my next direction? I don't believe I am losing fluid. Looking back, the only thing I found odd was that the front pads had an uneven wear on one side of the pad itself. This has me thinking that one of the pistons may be stuck or there is blow-by. I'm looking for some ideas on where to go next before I start changing out parts unnecessarily.

When I am sitting in the passenger front seat of my Quest, I can hear a ton of wind noise coming in from the rear passenger slider door just over my right ear. I have a toddler sitting back there, so he cannot comment about it. I mentioned it to the dealership at my oil change yesterday. They said the gaskets are fine around that door, and they test drove it and also heard the wind noise. They then adjusted the hinges saying that they thought that door looked like it wasn't as flush as the other side was. Test drove again and still the wind noise. Service Advisor was going to research to see if this is a known problem, and suggested I call him in a week and then bring the car in and leave it there for further inspection. Any other ideas? Or is this a common known issue. I do not hear this wind noise coming from the driver's side, only that rear passenger slider. Thank you.

My 94 quest stumbles when I first take off after I start it. It backfires through the intake & cuts out. After about 1 block or so of driving, it smooths out & runs fine after that until I shut it off & let it sit for a little while, then it does it again.

I checked the codes & it has a code 33 - O2 sensor, & a code 34 - knock sensor. I replaced the O2 sensor with a new one, & did a major tune up - plugs, wires, cap & rotor, & it still stumbles & still has the 33 & 34 codes. Any help resolving this issue would be appreciated.

I have a 94 Quest that hesitates & stumbles on acceleration. It is also backfiring through the intake. It started after I replaced the water pump. The only connector I unplugged was the distributor connector, & it is plugged back in, so I dont think replacing the water pump has anything to do with it.

I was reading the PDF on engine controls & saw where to unplug harness connectors E30 & F28 & jump across them to get the MIL to flash codes. It says they are by the starter. The problem is there are several connectors by the starter & I dont know which one to unplug. Is there a picture posted here pointing out the correct one, or can someone tell me which one is it?

1999 Quest. Injector fuse keeps burning up. Fuel pump working all the way thru filter. I try a new 10amp fuse..get some ignition..then blown. Van just had upper radiator hose replaced but I don't see anything in that area that could relate. Van ran 300 miles since hose replacement then wouldn't start after parking. Van has had problems burning out heater motor relays resulting in heater fan only working on #4 (high). Replaced that relay with sucess for 1 month then back to same heater problem. Could bad Heater moter be causing? Research says check injector relay and sensor. Is there one of each for every cylinder. Other research says cheak cam and crank sensor. This must be some little electric pulg in box needing replacing..right?

Optional Information:
Year: 1999
Make: Nissan

Already Tried:
Check fuel pump/filter. Working. Starter fluid to carb and car ran...so I have spark...just no gas

I established a starting sequence that works temporily.....Spray Starter fluid in...turn over and while running on eather, put 10 amp fuse into fuseblock. Will run on gas just right until you adjust the throttel at all..then you get a fuse blowout and all stops.

I went to replace the front pads on my 2004 Quest today. I discovered that the new pads (EBC Greenstuff 7000's) do not have the tiny holes on the edge of the backing plates for this wishbone-shaped spring.

The spring connects across the inside and outside brake pads.

Is this spring an essential component?

I didn't get a chance to find out for myself. I discovered the piston boots on both calipers were messed up.

On the left side, there was tear in one of the piston boots. On the right side, one of the boots would not collapse without balooning. I tried putting the old pads back in, remounting the caliper and easing the piston back out and retrying. Still messed up. So, I put the old pads back in and plan to order rebuilt calipers from Napa.
