Hey folks,
I am knee deep in my pathy inspecting/replacing my water pump because it was overheating. I need to get the crank case cover off so I can get to the last two bolts on the pump.
I am sure most of you know that to get the cover off you need to pull the harmonic balancer pulley off. I would love some advice on how to do this. Every time I use the breaker bar it keeps turning.
I have tried a ratchet strap around the pulley, still no cigar. HALP!!!

I downloaded a piece of a manual fine about three days ago. I subscribed to download more. Then there was apparently some maintenance done yesterday and today, now I can't even download a loose section. I'm trying to get the 96 Sentra manual. I can download the service bulletins. I don't see the announcement of maintenance being performed anymore so I assume everything was completed. I don't get the window that pops up to give me the option to save. I tried the RAR and ZIP, I tried left clicking on the Name hyperlink and the floppy disk link. When I right click on the links and click save as... an html link, "knowledgebase.html" shows up as the file to save instead of the ZIP/RAR. I can download the service bulletins by left clicking or right click/save as.. just fine.

Is there still maintenance issues? It appears the manual links are broken. I tried IE 7 and Firefox.

I also tried from multiple computers.

Ever since purchasing our new Murano in Feb., my sensitive back has had nothing but trouble adjustiing to the firmness of the seats. Of particular discomfort was the way the adjustable lumbar support applied outward pressure on the upper part of my back as well as to my lumbar area. The other day a took the back seat panel off and took a look at the setup of that lumbar support. Figuring I had nothing to lose I decided to release the 2 springs that held the upper part of that lumbar mechanism. Much to my surprise I found that by doing this not only did the lumbar now apply support only down where it is needed--in the lumbar area--but also the upper area of the seat (where the 2 springs were released) now had a lot less firmness. No outward pressure was applied in that area of the seat no matter how much you press the lumbar support button on the power seat. In my estimation this is the way that lumbar support should work.

Vehicle is a 2002 Pathfinder SE, and I need a second remote. Need a second key, too, for that matter, but I think I have that one figured out.

Question is, there are two similar (3-button) remote fobs out there, but they have different FCC IDs.

#1 - CWTWB1U733
#2 - KBRASTU15

My current remote is the latter KBRASTU15, but some (eBay) sellers seem to offer the former CWTWB1U733 as a 'replacement' for it.

So will both of these work fine? Will there be any programming issues? Can I use one alongside the other?

Thanks in advance.

Fluctuating idle, random shut-off

Right now my car, 2001 Nissan Sentra GXE 1.8, has two symptoms that I am trying to identify possible causes for.

1. The Idle bar drops down constantly when it is idling. When I first start the car, it rests at 1,000 RPM, but after about 7 seconds it drops to around 800 and then starts dipping between 800 and 600 constantly.

2. The car lately has been shutting off without warning when I come to a stop at a light, and a couple times even while driving. It gives no warning at all, shuts off, and then after about 5 minutes with the hood open, turns on like there is no problems. Before you say heating, I have checked all fluids, I check the overflow every time it shuts off immediately(never any steam or boiling liquids), and I always check the thermostat right when it shuts off.

For the 2nd symptom I went to autozone when I realized that the check engine light was on, and it gave me a Crankshaft Position Sensor code. I changed the sensor, but am still wary to drive it because of the fluctuating RPMs. So basically what I need to know, would a crankshaft sensor cause the problems with shut-off, and is the RPM fluctuation related. Trying to avoid going to a mechanic but if anyone recognizes these problems and thinks I need to hit up a mechanic then please let me know.

Hi Everyone,

I have a 2001 Max, with 115000km on her. Recently, when I put the left turn signal on to make a (left) turn the signal light is flashing faster than normal.

The right signal light is working properly. That is flashing normally.

I check to see if any light bulbs were burnt out, found none.

When I put the flashers on (both signal lights) the signal lights flash normally.

Any assistants to fix this problem would greatly be appreciated.

Just bought a 2000 sentra gxe w/ a 1.8L 4 cyl. engine. Was told about an intermittant idle problem at stops. After searching these forums, assumed I would eventually need to replace the ECU to correct this problem(?). 2 weeks later, I decide to do a compression test, and replace the plugs since they were out. Compression was good (all between 150-165), but now the car doesn't start. I don't seem to be getting a spark from any of the coils, and the SES light does not come on when I turn the key to to the on position. All the fuses check out ok, and I will attempt to check the relays tomorrow. I'm assuming if I change the ECU and/or the relay I should be good to go? Any help would be appreciated, as this is my first Nissan-I usually nuy american.
