Default Nav Hack

So... I bought an 09' Murano (SL - loaded) about 3 weeks ago. LOVE IT! The only difference between mine and the LE (besides about 4-5 grand) is the iPod interface, back-seat heat and the power steering wheel adjuster (thus eliminating the Exit/Entry and Memory Seat functions... no biggy).

Anyways - on to the current project... I HATE not having the ability to do things like type in addresses, or scroll past more than 4 POI (Points of Interest) without stopping... not to mention the inability to play DVD's (which requires the parking brake to be on... not sure I can fix that) or the inability to label my music on my 9Gig hard drive, unless stopped. It's a pain.

So I'm going to attempt a Nav Hack, and (hopefully) tap into the Speed Sensor wire that feeds the nav system, and insert a switch that I will mount in-cabin.

I've read up on several Nav Hacks on other, older models... I know that I need a Service Manual along with alot of thought/planning and studying. I'm predicting that I can fully focus on trying to make this happen within the next 1 to 2 months... I'll document my progress, ect, on this forum, and then post my results. In return, I'd like to know if someone could point me to a good pdf of the Service Manual for the 09' Murano

Thoughts, anyone? Who thinks I'm completely insane, and is there anything that can happen worse than voiding my warranty and potentially killing myself?

Until a Specialist replies...You the man! I wouldn't have the nerve to hack into my radio while I was still under warranty! Looking forward to your future posts.

Right now - Nissanhelp hasn't loaded any Sections from your 2009 Murano Service Manual. If you wait - I'm sure Nissanhelp will start loading a few Sections shortly. However, the manual itself is loaded up.

If you Subscribe for ($10) you could download the 2009 Murano Service Manual (all Sections) plus unlimited download priv's for everything on NissanHelp.

Hope this helps...

Thanks for the quick reply :) ... I'll definitely subscribe then, if it will get me a service manual... I mainly need to figure out how to disassemble the nav system...

While I'm in there, any suggestions on other hacks/mods that I'm not aware of?

(I doubt I'll get to this as soon as this weekend though... wifey has me painting and doing our security system and afew other things...)

I just looked at Service Manual Section AV - AUDIO, VISUAL & NAVIGATION SYSTEM and their is a subsection on:

BOSE AUDIO WITH NAVIGATION
NAVIGATION SYSTEM.................558
System Diagram........................558
System Description....................558
Component Parts Location...........561
Component Description...............562

On removal of your radio - Section IP - INSTRUMENT PANEL as a subsection on INSTRUMENT PANEL ASSEMBLY which shows your radio, etc.

The first thing I did was browse the net but could only find older rides.
