Welcome to Nissanhelp.com!

Does the light in the switch turns ON - OFF? or the buzzer is not working? What I have seen that is common is that the buzzer fails and the system goes in a fail safe mode, and the light in the switch is ON all the time. If that is the case just replaced the buzzer above the gauges.

I WISH!! I live in a snowy place and every time the snow builds up around the back - which is everytime I drive in the snow - it causes the sonar to beep it's brains out when there is nothing there!!!!

Is the sonar buzzer used for other alarms, like low tire pressure?

My sonar switch light is ON 24/7 and the sonar doesn't work.

This should be covered under warranty, right? Wonder if it would be easier to just DIY it??

I have an '04 and my sonar has never worked properly. It will usually buzz like crazy at nothing. Occasionally, it actually works, so I just push the button to turn it off the second I put it into reverse after turning on my car. Any suggestions? Or is it just a bad sonar that needs replacement?

I also have a 2004 that just recently started giving me sonar problems. It has always worked great up until a week or two ago.

I searched Google to find some idea of what to do and it brought me to this forum. Here is the link to what I found
rear sonar/back up sensor problems

It hasn't fixed my problem, but when I went through the steps I couldn't get it to beep at all so something tells me it might be the buzzer. Does anyone have an idea of what the costs to replace?

Thanks!

Thumbs down Sonar is beeping continuous once rear gear is selected

Please help!

once I engage the reverse gear, the sonar buzzer goes into the high frequency beeping like when the car is backing into an object even when there is nothing behind it.

i have tried the diagnostics method which indicated code 21 - sonar buzzer problem, but the buzzer sounds hence the surprise it is indicating buzzer problem. In any case, I reset the error, and no new error has come up since, but the buzzer still gives continuous sound once the reverse gear is engaged.

Any idea what to check please? Car ECM was replaced a week before the problem started

Thanks
