Default ATF options for 08 Altima Hybrid

I want to put the thinnest, lowest viscosity ATF as possible in my 08 Altima Hybrid. What is the best choice that is "Nissan Approved" or that a Nissan dealer would install, at least?

I think the manual lists "Dexron VI" as an alternative. Is this a lower viscosity ATF than the stock Nissan blend?

Also, looks like there are multiple brands of Dexron VI ATF. Any differences? I think I read that the SuperTech Dexron VI is available at Walmart...

One last point -- Just called my dealer and they insisted that only the Nissan CVT ATF is allowed, despite what the manual says. Is my dealer incorrect?

Thanks!
Eph

For warranty repair, the dealer has to use the Nissan fluid. For customer service you don’t have to use the factory fluid, but it’s highly recommended
I personally don’t recommend changing the fluid or mixing it with another brand

I would definately stick with the factory fluid. Nissan calls it matic w. You might want to try calling a toyota dealer and ask them what they would reccommend. The trans. in the altima hybrid is a toyota trans.
