Default Expected life of a Nissan Altima

I have a Nissan Altima '02 2.5 s with 120K on it.

I bought the car with 115K on the car (I guess the worst decision of my life). I'm having various problems so far.

Just wondering, what ur thoughts are on the life span of these cars, I mean how long (?K miles) would you expect such cars to run smooth.

Please share.

sharif.

If you have the 3.5 then you can expect, with proper maintenance, many trouble free years. Look after the recalls. From my experience with my 02 Altima 2.5s, I hit 150k miles before my engine was toast (precat issue). My advice is to check your VIN against the list of known models with precat issues. If your car falls in this group IMO a) sell it! or b)get the original cat off the car before it's too late.

it all depends on how u treat the car, also depends on how the origanal owner/s have driven the car. i mean u cant guess when the car would blow up on you but what u can do is just do proper maint. and dont abuse the car too much(i mean sometimes u just have to have fun) i seen cars go for thousands of miles over than what most people thought. i mean u got a car with 120k on it some parts will need to be replaced due to age and use
