Default Anti Lock Brake Actuator

Hello,

I have a Nissan Altima 2007 SL. I went to the dealer to check out some niose that my brakes were making, they told me it was the actuator... Does an acutartor actually make noise. Its strange to me. Can someone help me with this. Because i don't believe an Actuator should make noise when it is engaged.

thank you

The abs actuator will make noise. It will occur during initial startup when it does a self check and then whenever the abs activates.

Default Actuator

So its going to make a clicking noise every time the car is turned on and reaches the 10mph. It doesn't make the noise until it hits 10mph. Are you sure this is normal?

Yes it will make the noise when it goes thru "proof-out" and when your tires begin to loose traction and lock-up.It's all very normal.

I know this is an old post but I was at my dealer this morning and there was a recall paper on a desk about this and it wasn't model specific.
