Default What brake pad material?

My 1995 altima needs front rotors and pads. Any recommendations? I see ceramic, semi-metallic and organic pad materials. I also see performance type and oem replacement rotors. Cost is not a big issue. Brake dust and pad wear are big issues. I have had the brakes replaced way too many times at the shop. Now I will do my own but want to use quality materials.

Thanks

Usually ceramic pads create less dust and wear well. Rotors really don't matter that much. Just don't buy the cheapest ones.

Very true. My friend saves alot that he can't even spend more for his car until his pads screwed up & the car gave up on him.

I agree with the ceramic pads. They are a little more expensive but you will notice a lot less dust. You can get away with Semi-Metallic or even Organic for the rear pads as they aren't used as much but I'd definitely get ceramic for the front. As for rotors, you have a lot of different options. I've noticed that the slotted/cross-drilled rotors' cost outweigh the benefits as they wear the pads down a lot faster and I personally don't break enough to need extra cooling. Try to see if you can't get your current rotors turned before replacing them. A lot cheaper alternative and like-new performance as long as they are thick enough.
