2002 Altima 2.5, No Heat fix didn't work
Hi
Wondering what to try next. Today I ran the engine at 3500 rpm, while front end raised for 35 minutes with rad cap off. Saw air bubbles from 10 to 20 minutes. Ran another 15 minutes. It was very hot in the cabin. Dropped rpm down to idle for 10 minutes then checked cabin temp. Heater was blowing completely cold. Only strange thing I saw was copper colored particles floating at top of coolant from time to time. What is recommended to try next? |

Either you bleed the coolant system a few more times, same way you did, or you buy a tool to refill the coolant system. At our shop, we get many vehicles with the same problem and refilling the system with the tool we fix the problem.
Here an example of the tool: MCR102A Matco Tools Vacuum Venturi Cooling System Refiller With Case | eBay

Nissan had a TSB regarding bleeding the coolant in these vehicles. They would take a horseshoe clip, like the ones they use to secure the parking brake lever to the aft rear brake shoe, and put it into the radiator cap so it wouldn't seal. They they'd take the reservoir and hang it up from the hood so it was higher than the engine. This would allow the air to work its way through and up to the reservoir. Of course, if the air bubbles never stop, that it could be that those bubbles are combustion gases being routed into the coolant system via a bad head gasket. Another reason for a system running cold air is an air mix mode door issue.

someone put barrs leak in the system.
That is the copper particles you see. Does the bubbling ever stop? May have a head gasket breach |
