Default Car will crank but not start

I am sure people have answered this question before but i cant find it. I have an 04 Altima 2.5 that will crank but not start. It was running prior to me replacing the headlight that went out then tried to start.. I have just replaced the crank shaft sensor and the camshaft. I have bought a new battery and still nothing. I have noticed thought that the red anti-theft light does stay on during cranking... I also connected an OBDII to the car and it was saying there was a link error. I don't know if the anti-theft would have anything to do with that

Is the engine cranking but not starting or is not cranking at all?

If is not cranking, then the starter motor is probably the problem.

If is cranking but not starting, then there are several things that can cause this problem. I suggest starting by checking if there is spark at the spark plugs, then you can continue checking for fuel pressure at the injectors. Please let us know your findings.

It is cranking just not starting.... I pulled the spark plugs and none of them are getting spark..

I am also wondering why the code reader i plugged in would keep saying link error.

Do you have a volt meter? If you do please check if there is battery voltage at the ignition coils. You should have battery voltage at the Light Green (LG) wire of the ignition coils (Green just for coil #1). If there is no voltage, then you may have a problem with the ECM relay. the relay also powers the ECM, which may explain why you cant connect to the ECM to check for codes. But please check for voltage at the coils first.

The ECM relay is in the IPDM. You can swap the relay with adjacent if you like to tested.

1. retrace your work. i'm not exactly quite clear as to the Headlamp work you did. did you just replace the bulb? did you disconnect the neg. battery cable? any other wirings you've disconnected.

2. check fuses and fuseable links. from ignition switch to BCM (2) and 1 fuseable link. take voltage reading on ECM terminal 50 for Data Link Connector. this is Priority 1 so you can retrieve stored trouble codes. refer to Engine Control manual under Trouble Diagnosis for reference. hope this helps. manuals are in Knowledgebase section.

3. the video is good reference but may not be applicable on your vehicle. i agree Pin 16 is 12v power socket. that may be where the similarities end depending on the OBDll protocol used by Audi tho most Europians car makers also uses the ISO protocol as Nissan do. your 3rd gen Altima uses ISO9141. hope this helps.

All i did was unbolt the overfill for the radiator and move that so i could get to the headlight. When i replaced the headlight I bolted everything back up and then the car would crank but not start. I have checked all the fuses which they are all good. I changed both crank and cam shaft sensors. I have tried plugging the obd reader in to the car and it couldn't link. I then tried the manual way to check for codes and that to didn't work. I am think i may just have to take it to the dealer for this one...

The ipdm ecm relay was bad or the ipdm module fuse relay box controller unit and the ecu ecm unit?
