04 Altima check engine light and codes
A little history, just replaced the catalytic converter, exhaust manifold, and O2 sensor on my 04 Altima with a 4 cylinder. The check engine light went off for one day then came back on. I just got someone to check the code and it is P1274 Air fuel sensor 1 heater bank one. Also P0171 bank one system too lean.
Can someone help me with these? Will this have anything to do with the parts I just replaced? If not how hard will this be to fix. Thanks |

You've replaced your CAT go ahead replace your Air/Fuel sensor. I recommend do both Pre-cat and post cat. Very easy to replace. But you need to do it when engine is cool to the touch as you will need to remove the heat shield. You will also need the oxygen sensor socket ( I think 21mm size) and 1/2 inch socket wrench that's it.

I did replace the upstream sensor while I was replacing the converter and manifold.

P1274
Check your wiring to/at connector of upstream o2(air/fuel sensor). If it's showing heater circuit (P1274), get a voltmeter and confirm you're getting volts at the wire for the heater circuit at the o2 sensor connector. Could be you got a defective(dropped) o2. What brand did you purchase? I haven't heard of Nissans being finicky with brands of o2's like Toyota. P0171 could be a vacuum leak, weak fuel pump, plugged injector, etc. Did you have the code before you replaced the manifold/cat.?
