Default Went over a curb.. and a new noise..now.

Hi there,

Just 2 days ago, I accidentally went over the curb when turning right. It was at very low speed. I believe both the passenger front wheel and the rear well successfully went over the curb. Was definitely angry at myself for not paying attention. [ I was actually on the phone when making the turn.. so didnt pay attention. But lesson learnt. ]

Only *NEW noise/problem I see now is whenever I approach this uneven bumpy pavement right before the underground parking. My car at this point is at a turning point not straight. Right at this point, I have to make a left turn to approach the underground parking. Upon making the left turn I hear this knocking/popping noise from the front passenger side.

I really don't know if its the tie rods, cv joints? I went underneath the car to check it out.. Nothing is bent or looked weird. No scratches anything.

On a straight road, left or right turns does NOT make the above noise.

Strange just going over the curb at that low speed, has caused this noise...

Any suggestions?

I have a 1999 Nissan Altima, 281K KM.

Thanks guys.

You should have your Altima check underneath for any possible damages and, if possible, get an alignment. The only way to find out the damage is by checking under the vehicle and in case the damage is not obvious, the alignment should be able to find any bend suspension components.

Years ago, my daughter did something similar as she bumped the driver side front wheel into a slightly raised median (curb). She didn't notice anything different but the next time she took it in to have her tires rotated/balanced, they told her she needed a new wheel bearing on that side. This was a new problem as she had her tires rotated/balanced religiously and could only assume that hitting that curb the way she did caused the wheel bearing failure.

Any tire shop should be able to diagnose the problem
