2011 Altima Replacement Intelligent Key
I need to get a replacement key for the 2011 Altima. The dealerships are trying to charge a ton for one of them. My question is if I buy one online at Amazon or somewhere, will a local locksmith be able to program it since it has the keyless ignition?? Or am I forced to go to the dealership?
Thanks! |

You can buy one online, but you still have to go to the dealer to have the key reprogram. Some independent shops that specialized on Nissan may also have the tools to reprogram the key.

Ok, can they program it if I provide proof of ownership and the VIN # or does the car have actually be there? I ask because I will have to get the car towed if it needs to physically be there.

The car needs to be there to program the keys. I think I still have a new one in my tool box at work still in the package. I will sell it for $45.00 shipped if you are interested.
