09 altima trans
hi. was in my wife's 09 Altima with cvt the other day. while driving it started shuddering like a tire was coming apart. stopped & looked things over-- nothing to see. started out again -seemed worse. I had her stop & checked for any motion on axles--nothing. turned for home & it got real bad. we pulled over & stopped. when we tried to pull out there was no drive. while waiting for tow truck we used reverse to get in a better position for the rollback. when I put car in neutral, I felt it seem to go into drive but I didn't give it any gas. could a sensor , switch, etc be responsible or is our tranny done? is this trans actually under warranty for 10 yrs even for owners other than the first? happy holidays, huh? appreciate any insight on this . mike

I think the CVT has a 100K factory warranty if you're not past that.

10 years, 120,000 miles as long as it has the correct fluid in it. It has to have ns-2 CVT fluid. Atf will void the warranty.
