Crankshaft Position Sensor help for Nissan Altima
Hi guys, I'm here because I need help replacing the crankshaft position sensor on my '05 Altima.
For the life of me, I can't get it clipped back on . I've run through many forums, including this one, and even though they've provided some help, it still isn't clipped on. Can anyone please provide some help? Much thanks! |

If you are using the new style sensor with the metal housing it is easiest to plug the sensor in and then install it .

Thanks MPE235, that worked for me.
Have a new problem that I must have done myself when I was doing this yesterday. I took the car for a test drive hours after I completed this. Then I turn on the car this morning and take it for another drive, but the speedometer and odometer are not functioning. I must have disconnected something in the process. Was it the speed sensor? I didn't even see it. |

As always, if you scan the ECM would be best and see if DTC P0500 show up. Possible cause per Service Manual:
Harness or Connectors: CAN line is open or shorted. VSS circuit is open or shorted. VSS malfunction. It is installed in the transaxle. Combination Meter. |
