Default Crankshaft Position Sensor help for Nissan Altima

Hi guys, I'm here because I need help replacing the crankshaft position sensor on my '05 Altima.

For the life of me, I can't get it clipped back on . I've run through many forums, including this one, and even though they've provided some help, it still isn't clipped on.

Can anyone please provide some help?

Much thanks!

If you are using the new style sensor with the metal housing it is easiest to plug the sensor in and then install it .

Thanks MPE235, that worked for me.

Have a new problem that I must have done myself when I was doing this yesterday. I took the car for a test drive hours after I completed this. Then I turn on the car this morning and take it for another drive, but the speedometer and odometer are not functioning.

I must have disconnected something in the process. Was it the speed sensor? I didn't even see it.

As always, if you scan the ECM would be best and see if DTC P0500 show up. Possible cause per Service Manual:

Harness or Connectors: CAN line is open or shorted. VSS circuit is open or shorted.
VSS malfunction. It is installed in the transaxle.
Combination Meter.
