Default 2011 Altima foglight install.

I am planing to install OEM fog lights on my 2011 Altima 2.5S. The dealer said that the fog light kit will only fit the 2011 2.5 S with technology package model only. Is this true and what is the difference in the package?

My guess would be the wiring.

I was hoping to find someone that knew the difference between the 2010 Altima 2.5S and the 2011 Altima 2.5S in regards to the OEM fog light kit. The two cars look the same. Maybe someone with dealer experience could help. Thanks

I don't remember off hand if the tech package has auto lights. If it does that could be the difference. The kit would work but you would have a switch position for auto that wouldn't do anything.

Thanks for the reply mpe235.
My 2011 Altima 2.5 S has auto lights but does not have the tech package. According to the window sticker auto lights are in the convenience package my car has. My car also has the convenience plus and premium audio packages but not the tech package.
Do you know if the OEM fog light kit # 999F1-UW000 will fit my car and the parts guy was just mistaken. Any more help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

If you have the auto lights there is no reason they shouldn't work. Just make sure the wiring is there. If you look behind the bumper where the fog lights mount you will see the plugs for them taped to the harness. I haven't seen one without the wiring but you want to make sure before you buy the kit.

mpe235 thanks again.
I will check to be sure that the wiring is there. I will let everyone know if the kit does not work for some other reason. I am not planing on getting the kit for about a month so it will be after that.
Thanks for the help.

I have installed the fog light kit. There was no problem at all. In fact it was one of the easiest mods I have ever done. Everything fit perfectly.
I do not know why it says in the accessories that the OEM fog light kit # 999F1-UW000 will only fit 2011 Altima's with the tech package.
Also kit # 999F1-UW000 is with auto headlights and kit # 999F1-UW001 is without auto headlights.

Meaning that you just plug in the fog lights and woala!? Let there be light? I know my 2012 Altima is prewired for fog lights but how can those be turn on without the fog lights stalk? If you say that is just like that, that with the auto lights package the fog lights can be turned on, then I'll get me some fog lights!

Almost that easy...
The kit includes a new stalk to replace the one without the fog light switch. It is a factory stalk so it will be like it came from factory with fog lights. Be sure to order the correct one - with or without auto headlights.

Do you recall if the kit has instructions on how to install the stalk?

The kit does have complete instructions.
Also there are instructions in the "Knowledgebase" heading on this web site in do-it yourself - accessories just like the one that comes with the kit. You can take a look to see what is involved in the installation before you order.

The kit numbers when I got mine were kit # 999F1-UW000 is with auto headlights and kit # 999F1-UW001 is without auto headlights. The ones in the web site you show looks like the kit I got but I can not be sure. Maybe they changed the kit no. I would talk to a Nissan Dealer to be sure.

I had the same confusion when I wanted to install the fog lights on my 2012 2.5 SL. I ordered at a great price from a dealer on eBAY and the install went flawlessly. I used the instructions available through this site and found everything (including the wiring harness) exactly where they should have been. The stalk install was just as easy. BTW, I don't have the technology package but have everything else (auto headlights, leather, premium bose sound, etc...)
