Default 2004 Altima Oil Leak

I have an oil leak on my 2004 Altima 3.5SE. It appears that it is coming from directly behind the oil filter housing. Is there an o-ring back there that could be bad? Does anyone have an exploded drawing for that area of the car? Without taking the oil filter housing completely off, I can't see behind it well enough to diagnose what the problem could be.
One other note, it appears the leak slows once the car starts heating up.
Thanks in advance for any help.
Happy Holidays.

You need to take the oil filter housing. It's only one bolt. You don't need to disconnect the oil filter housing hoses. Just remove bolt, separate the housing and replaced the O ring. See the attached image.

Default Altama oil leak

I had the same problem, repaired it in about 30 minutes. IT did make it easier to remove the wheel for access.

Default I have a video showing how to replace the oil cooler gasket. Stop that oil leak.

I have put together a video of the procedure to repair your Nissan and stop that oil leak that leaves a massive oil puddle over night in your garage. It shows how to replace the oil cooler gasket as talked about in this thread. If you go to You Tube and search for "Altima 2004 Oil Cooler Gasket Replacement 3.5L Engine" it should appear.

Or, you can go there directly with this link, if I'm allowed to post this link:
Altima 2004 Oil Cooler Gasket Replacement 3.5L Engine. Repair the Oil Leak. - YouTube

Please don't give a Nissan dealer $+700 for this repair. It's just a few steps more than changing your oil.

I hope this helps.

Regards!

FYI, if you can't get to a dealer, Dorman now offers replacement seals for Nissan oil coolers on the aftermarket.
