Hello Jim

The Air Mix Door is controlled by the Air Mix Motor, and the motor is located on the heater box (see attached image). When you change from cold to heat, you should hear or see the motor moving the door. If there is no heat, you should also check the cooling system and the water cock function.

The motor does not move, the temp. control does not do anything, when you slide the lever it stays in the full cold position.
Thanks Jim

Default Temperature Control

What happens at the blend door when you move the temperature control lever?

If it doesn't move (and it's cable driven....as on the 2002 Altima I did), then check for something broke at the back of the control head.

That's what happened to the 2002 Altima I worked on. I got a used control from a junkyard, modified the business end at the blend door (poorly designed) and walah, the temperature changed when I moved the dial to hot and cold :).
