Default 04 Altima 2.5 Stalling Problem and Cure

I've just joined the forum and I would like to say hi to everyone. Just thought I'd pass my recent experience along for those interested. I have an 04 Altima 2.5 and for the past two weeks the vehicle would suddenly stall while driving and also while stopped at idle without warning. The vehicle would restart within two attempts. At no time did the MIL light illuminate when the problem happened. I have a friend who is a Nissan tech and I gave him the vehicle for repair. He advised me that he did pull a crankshaft sensor code from the ECM. He replaced the crank sensor and reprogrammed the ECM with a program that places the crank and cam sensors in phase he explained. Nissan paid for the reprogram and I had to pay for the sensor and labor. The vehicle does have 70k miles on it and is out of warranty. To date, the problem seems to have been corrected. I just thought I'd pass this along for anyone who has had a similar problem. Also, I would like to thank the members of this forum for the great information shared. I'm looking forward to my forum membership.

T Clear the codes and drive it. The EEC will reset itself and the light will not come back on unless you still have a malfuntion.
