Default Fuel Pump Replacement

I've been looking everywhere, but I can't find how to replace the fuel pump in my 2002 altima. Do I have to drop the tank to get to it? I would really appreciate any help.

Remove the rear seat bottom. There are two clips that hold it down. They are on the front portion of the seat. Pull on them and lift the seat. You will see a black vover with a wire harness going through it. Turn the 3 clips on it a quarter turn and then lift the cover. The fuel pump/sending unit is held in by a large plastic nut at the top of the tank. It requires a special tool to remove it. A big pair of channel locks may work. After you get the nut off just lift the pump out, Be careful not to catch the float for the sending unit on the tank.

Default Removing Fuel Pump '02 Altima

I have searched everywhere and they all say channel locks or specialty tool J-38879. Its very simple just need a lil strength. Follow the instructions on removing the seat and the cover etc. You will see a big black lock ring (don't try to remove yourself its on super tight) take some WD-40 spray very little along the inside of the ring. Take a flat head and carefully place it on one of the tabs on the lock ring. Gently tap it with a hammer until you see it start to turn. Keep doing it until its loosen enough where you you can remove it. From that point continue to follow the instructions. I used www.ehow.com. Girls can get dirty too!!!!! No blood shed enjoy
