Altima 1998
I have a Altima, 1998, 5 speed manual transmission. When I start from a stopped position, I hear a creaking sound from the front of the engine. And when I apply brakes from a moving position, it also creaks? I have looked at the motor mounts, but can't see any cracks. Any ideas on what it could be?

Very tough question to answer without hearing the noise. I suggesting having someone stand in front of the vehicle and try to listen where the noise is coming from. It could be bad struts,loose hood, loose bumper bolts, etc.
