Question 2007 Altima Leaking Axle Seal

Hi all,
Just wanted to know if anyone else has had this problem. The other day the wife backed the car out of the carport and I notices an oil path on the ground. Took the car over to my local dealed and they told me I had a leaking left side axle seal. They had to order the seal and I'm taking it in Monday for repair. My concern is that I believe this seal has been replaced before. The reason I say this is that after I bought the car I contacted Nissan North America and got the warranty and service history and an oil seal replacement was done in 2/08, and after looking under the car I could see where the tech scared up the trans case while prying out the axle. This will be the 3rd seal in less than 3 years. Right now it's not a big deal as the car is still under warranty, but eventually the warranty will run out. Dose anyone know of a problem. Seals should not fail at this rate. I was wondering if I should get in touch with the Nissan zone rep to discuss this issue. This is my first Nissan and I,m hoping I didn't make a mistake by buying it.

It is possible that they may have damaged the sealing surface. Nissan did just extend the warranty on your cvt for 10 years or 120k miles so you are pretty much covered for the life of the car.

Nissan dealer replaced my driver side drive shaft (boot cracked and dry joint). Must've torn the seal putting it back in, becaues my driveway looked like a Dalmation after about a week and I'd had no issues ever before. Took it back, seal was replaced, all is good now...though my driveway still has acne...
