Default 97 SE cutting off

I just got the car Monday for $1,275 with 175,000 miles on it. I know that is high mileage for the year, but I couldn't pass it up. I needed a dd with a/c so I can have a car to get my daughter around in. Anyways, I have changed the plugs, wires, dizzy cap, rotor button, tube seals, and vc gasket so far. It was running rough and the plugs looked like they hadn't been changed in forever. Two of them were covered in oil due to the seals leaking. With all the above changed, it runs great, doesn't smoke and pulls hard. The problem I am having is that when you go to stop at a light or stop sign, sometimes the car just shuts off for no reason, it doesn't act up, it just cuts off. The idle jumps a little sometimes when you stop and other times it is fine. It is an intermittent problem. I haven't checked the pcv or EGR yet, those are next on my list. The car sat for a month or so before I bought it so I'm planning on filling it up with some good 93 octane and fuel system cleaner to see if that helps. This is my first Nissan, I have Hondas for the last 10 years (if you can't tell from the screen name lol) so I'm not really familiar with anything on the car. If anyone has any other suggestions for me to try, I am all ears. Thanks for any help you can offer.

I forgot to mention in my first post, it has a new air and fuel filter on the car. They were changed by the previous owner.

Nissan/Datsuns are durable. I have a 69 510 project car, an 1985 300zx runs perfect, a 1990 240 sx runs perfect a 1999 Altima runs perfect and a 2004 Crew Cab Frontier that also runs perfect.

Yes check the distributor and if there is oil in it the PCV is not doing it's job and the crank case is presurizing and forcing iol into the distributor. the PCV is a pain to change it is under the intake manifold.

Thanks for some help guys, I checked the inside of the dizzy cap when I changed the cap and rotor. No oil in there thank goodness. I cleaned the MAF the other day when I changed the oil and oil filter, seems to have helped a little. The only other thing I noticed when I pulled the air filter out is that someone drilled holes in the bottom of the factory air box. The idle still wants to dip sometimes, but not cut off any more. Maybe next weekend I'll try and clean the idle air control and see if that helps too. The passenger side axle just decided to blow a 2" split in the boot, just got finished up fixing it. Trying to do one thing at a time.

Mass Air Flow. Located in the intake stream it is a sensor that measures the intake air flow across a certain point and then the computer uses this to tell the fuel system how much fuel to deliver as well as other things depending on the year.
