Strange OBD Code
My 07 Altima is throwing a code that reads P2A00. Of course it is not on the list of OBDII codes for Nissans. My mechanic is saying it is the Bank 1 O2 sensor...which I have now replaced twice in the past year to the tune of $250 each. Can anyone give a n idea on what may be causing this O2 sensor to go bad so often?

Quote:
Before replacing the next O2 sensor you should reprogram the ECM first.

O2 Sensor replacement
Thanks for the reply. The local Nissan dealer replaced the Bank 1 O2 sensor both times, so I have to assume the SOP would include a reprogramming of the ECU. Tell me what happens if they didn't reprogram. What would the ECU do that took out the O2 sensor again?

Sorry, meant ECM, not ECU.

Most likely as the reprogram is to correct the fuel mapping.
