Power steering Pump Altima 2000
Hi,
I am new to this forum. I have got a 2000 Altima and it makes noise when I turn the steering wheel. I talked to a mechanic and he said PS pump needs to be changed. I would like to know where I can get a cheap one that's gonna work. and what brand? Thanks |

Check your PS fluid to be sure its ok. If its empty you will hear noise. PS Pump is a pricey component. You go to the dealer will probably cost you around $400. - $500. Check your local salvage yard. You can use 1998 - 2001 for 2.4L engines. Check out the salvage yard link below. I bought a PS pump pulled from a '03 Altima ($35. includes shipping) and I'm still using it for 9 months now while the original is back-up after I rebuild. They give you 6 months warranty. There's another large salvage yard out of NJ but I haven't bought from them. Also check out: rockauto.com for a reman PS pump.
