Default Daytime Running Lights

Don't have them - Want them.

My 2011 2.5S does not have the auto feature for headlights, and that's fine. But I do want 60% daytime running lights. Since the Canadian cars have this feature perhaps it is an easy conversion for my car? If not I can always just go with ultra bright LEDs tied to a hot circuit, but I would prefer a stock setup.

I hate to be a pessimist, but most automakers these days do not have a common wiring harness per platform. So DRLs are not just a 'plug in a DRL relay' conversion (if it were, the dealers would sell you that, no?)

I have found, for example, that in the Maxima the vehicle wiring harness is different for the BOSE radio vs base.

There are aftermarket DRL kits, but not sure those are any good or not.

I know a mechanic who has done this many times and it'd take about an hour, 2 hours tops to set up. From what I recall, the headlights would be connected to the tail lights along with 2 relays.

The Canadian version uses the high beam lights as DRL's.

If you really want this done, maybe your local dealership would do it for you. You don't want your factory warranty voided if some electrical fault occurs as they'll try to put blame on you.
