Default Block heater cord

I have about 2 to 3 feet of block heater cord wrapped up and sitting beside my windshield washer bottle on my 09 coupe. Is this extra cord supposed to be routed to the front of the car for easier access. On the cord there are a number of fasteners and a grommet so I imagine they are there for a purpose.

the owners manual for the 2007 Altima says 'open the hood and unwrap the engine block heater cord'..so yours may be totally correct.

....my guess is that this is a 'one size fits all' part. The dealer should have a copy of the install sheet for the block heater accessory. I would go to the parts counter and ask to look at the sheet.
