2004-2005 NISSAN ARMADA, QUEST; VOLUNTARY SERVICE CAMPAIGN SUPPLEMENTAL RESTRAINT SYSTEM (SRS) DIAGNOSIS SENSOR UNIT
This issue only affects 2004-05 Quest and 2004-05 Armada vehicles equipped with
optional seat-mounted side air bags for which the SRS Diagnosis Sensor Unit was
replaced. For example, this part may have been replaced if the vehicle was previously
involved in an accident. Nissan has determined that the incorrect part may have been
installed in a small number of these vehicles when the sensor unit was replaced. In those
cases a sensor unit designed for vehicles without seat-mounted side air bags was used
instead of the correct one. If this happened, the optional seat-mounted side air bags may
not deploy during a crash. To remedy this potential condition, Nissan is conducting a
Voluntary Service Campaign to inspect and, if necessary, replace the SRS Diagnosis
Sensor Unit free of charge.

2004 NISSAN QUEST; VOLUNTARY RECALL CAMPAIGN PASSENGER FRONT SEAT SRS OCCUPANT DETECTION SYSTEM
Nissan has determined that the front passenger seat on some 2004 model year Nissan Quest vehicles fail to comply with Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard 208 – Occupant Crash Protection. In order to meet one part of Safety Standard 208, the air bag for the front passenger seat must be turned off (so that it does not inflate) when certain occupants, such as small children, are in the front seat. This prevents such occupants from being injured by an inflating air bag in a collision.

2004-2006 NISSAN QUEST; VOLUNTARY RECALL CAMPAIGN SECOND-ROW SEAT
Nissan has determined that some 2004-2006 model year Nissan Quest vehicles may have a defect which relates to motor vehicle safety. The seat adjustment mechanism located at the rear of the second row seat contains exposed moving metal components. If the second row seat is adjusted in an unusual manner (for example, when standing outside the vehicle), there is a possibility that a finger may be pinched in the moving seat adjustment mechanism. To prevent this condition from occurring, Nissan is conducting a Voluntary Safety Recall Campaign to add additional components to the rear of the second row seats, and if necessary, replace the second row seat inboard seat adjustment handle with a new one free of charge.

2004-2005 NISSAN QUEST; VOLUNTARY RECALL CAMPAIGN THIRD-ROW SEAT STRIKER
Nissan has determined that some 2004-2005 model year Nissan Quest vehicles may have a defect which relates to motor vehicle safety. There is the possibility that the third row seat striker brackets, which hold the seat in the upright seating position, may detach due to a broken weld. Striker separation could affect the risk of injury in certain types of collisions. To prevent this condition from occurring, Nissan is conducting a Voluntary Safety Recall Campaign to replace the third row seat striker brackets with new ones free of charge.

2004 NISSAN QUEST; VOLUNTARY RECALL CAMPAIGN POWER SLIDING DOOR LATCH ACTUATOR
Nissan has determined that some 2004 model year Nissan Quest vehicles, SL and SE models only, may have a defect which relates to motor vehicle safety. At an ambient temperature below approximately 40 degrees Fahrenheit, the actuator for the power sliding door(s) may experience binding. If binding occurs and the driver shifts the vehicle out of Park while a power sliding door is still closing, the door latches may not engage. This can result in the door coming open unexpectedly upon rapid acceleration such as accelerating quickly from a stopped position. If a passenger is not wearing a seat belt and the door unexpectedly opens, he could fall out and be injured. Unbelted passengers are at an increased risk of injury in a crash. To prevent this condition from occurring, Nissan is conducting a Voluntary Safety Recall Campaign to replace the actuator for the power sliding door(s).
