2004-2006 NISSAN TITAN, ARMADA; VOLUNTARY RECALL CAMPAIGN AIR CONDITIONER CONDENSER FAN
The air conditioning condenser fan motor in the subject vehicles was manufactured out of specification allowing for excessive water intrusion and inadequate drainage of moisture. If enough moisture accumulates in the motor, corrosion may occur, leading to increased temperature in the motor. Because of the motor’s unique structure, this increased temperature could melt its wiring insulation and other plastic components and ultimately result in a fire. To correct the issue, Nissan will inspect, and as needed, install a thermal protector kit on the air conditioning condenser fan at no charge for parts or
labor.

VOLUNTARY RECALL CAMPAIGN 2004–2006 NISSAN TITAN REAR DOOR HARNESS
Nissan has determined that on some 2004 – 2006 model year Titan King Cab vehicles, a defect that relates to motor vehicle safety exists.
In some affected vehicles, there is the possibility that the wires in the harness routed through the rear doors and into the body on each side of the vehicle may break due to over bending of the harness as the doors are opened and closed. The wires in the harness control various systems including the seat belt pretensioners, the passenger side seat belt tension sensor, and rear audio speakers.
If the wire for the seat belt pretensioners breaks and makes contact with a wire for the speaker, there is a possibility that the pretensioner may deploy and tighten the seat belt. If this happens when the belt is retracted, it will not be possible to use the seat belt. If one of the wires for the seat belt tension sensor breaks inside the passenger side harness, the passenger side front air bag will not deploy as designed in a frontal crash. Nissan is conducting a Voluntary Recall Campaign to inspect the wire harness cover for damage and, if necessary, a new wiring harness with a new type cover will be installed and
rerouted.

2004-05 TITAN, ARMADA, 2005 FRONTIER, PATHFINDER, XTERRA; VOLUNTARY SERVICE CAMPAIGN BODY CONTROL MODULE SUB-HARNESS
Nissan is committed to providing the highest levels of product quality and customer satisfaction. We know that towing a trailer may have been an important consideration in the customer's purchase decision. In new Titan, Armada, Frontier, Pathfinder, and Xterra vehicles, Nissan recently introduced enhanced electronic circuitry which may help further protect a vehicle from damage or fire caused by a short circuit in the electrical system of a towed trailer due to problems with the trailer’s wiring or mis-installation of trailer lighting or electrical accessories. Nissan is making this production enhancement available to owners of previously purchased vehicles so that they will have the same protection should they ever tow a trailer with a defective electrical system.

2004 NISSAN TITAN; VOLUNTARY SAFETY RECALL CAMPAIGN UPPER INTERIOR OCCUPANT PROTECTION
Nissan has determined that some 2004 model year Nissan Titan King Cab and Crew Cab vehicles fail to comply with Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard 201 – Occupant Protection in Interior Impact. FMVSS 201 specifies certain requirements for components of the upper interior of vehicles such as roof rails and pillars to assure they afford appropriate protection in the event an occupant’s head strikes the component in a crash. Nissan has determined that an area on the rear pillar where the rear seat belt upper anchor is attached may not be sufficiently energy absorbent. This could result in an increased risk of injury if the area is struck in some types of crashes. All other requirements under FMVSS 201 and other standards are met. To correct this condition, Nissan is conducting a Voluntary Safety Recall Campaign to replace the outboard rear seat belt assemblies with new ones, which have a larger, more energy-absorbent upper D-ring cover and D-ring. This will enable the vehicle to meet the FMVSS 201 standard at this location.

2004 NISSAN TITAN; VOLUNTARY RECALL CAMPAIGN A/T COLUMN SHIFTER
Nissan has determined that some 2004 model year Nissan Titan vehicles may have a defect which relates to motor vehicle safety. There is a possibility that the transmission shift lever assembly for the column shifter may have been damaged during manufacture. The damage could eventually result in the failure of the portion of the assembly that holds the shift lever in the "Park" position when the key is not in the ignition or when the key is in the "Lock", "Off" or "Accessory" position. This would allow the shift lever to be capable of being moved from "Park" without the key or when the ignition is in a position other than "On". In some situations, the ability of the shift lever to be moved out of the Park position could result in rollaway of the vehicle and cause a crash. To prevent this condition from occurring, Nissan is conducting a Voluntary Safety Recall Campaign to replace the shift lever assembly.
