2001-2002 NISSAN MAXIMA; VOLUNTARY RECALL CAMPAIGN TRANSVERSE LINK REPLACEMENT
Nissan has determined that some 2001 and 2002 model year Nissan Maxima vehicles may have a defect which relates to motor vehicle safety. On some vehicles there is a possibility that the attachment pin at the end of the front suspension transverse link on the left and right sides may break at the rear mounting bracket to the frame. This may cause a knocking sound and abnormal steering. This may result in difficulty controlling the vehicle which, if ignored, could cause a crash.

2000-2003 SENTRA, MAXIMA, 2002 ALTIMA, 2003 MURANO, 350Z; VOLUNTARY RECALL CAMPAIGN ENGINE SENSORS
Nissan has determined that some 2000-2003 model year Nissan vehicles may have a defect which relates to motor vehicle safety. The engine might stop running while being driven if the crank position sensor or cam position sensor fails. This may also result in the "Service Engine Soon" light coming on or reduced engine power. If the engine stops running while driving, this could result in a crash without warning.

2002 NISSAN MAXIMA; VOLUNTARY RECALL CAMPAIGN ACCELERATOR PEDAL STOP
Nissan has determined that some 2002 model year Nissan Maxima vehicles may have a defect which relates to motor vehicle safety. Under usual driving conditions, the stopper for the accelerator pedal will prevent excessive movement of the accelerator position sensor. However, if the driver pushes the pedal to the stopper with overly excessive force while at the same time pushing it to the right, the pedal may "over travel" due to the design of the stopper. This could cause the engine malfunction indicator lamp to come on and the engine speed to be severely limited. If this occurs unexpectedly, it could lead to a crash.

2002 NISSAN MAXIMA; VOLUNTARY SERVICE CAMPAIGN ODOMETER REPLACEMENT
Some 2002 model year Nissan Maxima vehicles contain odometers that are recording the distance traveled in kilometers instead of miles. As a result, the current odometer reading on these vehicles indicate a higher number than the actual miles traveled. To correct this condition, Nissan has initiated a Voluntary Service Campaign to replace the odometer with one showing the correct mileage.
