Default 1998 Nissan Pathfinder rear suspension issues (Drunk Elephant)

1998 Nissan Pathfinder 4x4 (Rear suspension issues – Drunk Elephant?)

I am aware that this is a Mercedes site, and I have received lots of help for my Mercedes vehicles. Because you guys have been so helpful, I decided to see if anyone could help me.

My pathfinder has had a series of things done to correct the rear suspension. When driving at speeds above 45 mph, I can notice a sway or rocking feeling from side to side. This seems to become more exaggerated when attempting to change lane or travel downhill. I was told tat the sway bar linkage needed replacing. I had the rubber bushings replaced on the sway bar linkage, rear upper linkage, and various other rubber components.

There has been some improvement in the performance of the rear end. Though the problem Is still present. I was told that the rear upper linkage needed to be replaced. Since I’ve already had the bushings replaced, is there still a need to replace the upper linkage mechanism? Are there any other suggestions for replacement? The mileage is 150,000 miles on my vehicle.

I did have the rear end checked, and was told that the mechanic did feel the problem but did not see any items to replace.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Ron
