Angry nissan 2000 xterra air conditioning and knock sensors

Recently, a friend of mine took her 2000 xterra (49,000 miles) to a Goodyear dealership to have her A/C checked. She would drive the car for a while before cold air would come out of the vents. Goodyear said her compressor was shot and replaced it. When she got it back with the new compressor, it was still not cooling the car. Upon returning it to the Goodyear dealership, she was told the freon leaked out as they found 2 leaks, but yet they stated that they took the system into a vacuum at 2 psi for an hour and a half and there were no leaks when they first replaced the compressor. Their response to my reminder about this was the Shrader valves. The Shrader valves were replaced. During the 2nd repair (trying to get the new compressor to cool properly), the mechanic could not get the car started, they replaced the starter, which worked fine when she brought the car in to have the new compressor repaired but the new starter did not solve the problem and Goodyear supposedly replaced the original starter and then told her there was an extra cable to the starter coming from a relay and they were not sure why it was there. Since the starter fix didn't work they then thought the problem was with the alarm system. She sent them her wireless key as she only left them a door key. She was called and said the car was ready. When picking up the car, upon starting the car the check engine light was now on. It was not on when she dropped it off to have the new compressor repaired and it was not on when she originally went to Goodyear for the A/C problem. There were 2 codes P0325 and P1605. She was told the codes referred to a bad knock sensor and a diagnostic line failure from the ECU and that it would be her responsibility to have it repaired as they are not equipped to do that repair and they were not responsible for this new situation. All she wanted was her A/C fixed and went through a starter, alarm problem and now a knock sensor problem and what now seems to be a transmission problem in the process of getting her A/C fixed. When she picked up the car, she noticed it now drives with a sluggishness. Her neighbor told her her transmission felt like it is slipping. Could her original compressor have not been the problem and the Goodyear dealership was just pulling parts at her expense to resolve the A/C issue which in turn created her new problem with the knock sensors and transmission? Can it be related at all to the work done replacing the compressor and removing and replacing a starter twice? Is the check engine light coming on a coincidence? Her Xterra ran fine except for the air conditioning not working before allowing Goodyear to repair the car. What has Goodyear done to this car and can it be proved Goodyear is responsible?
