The problem with the Altima was in the seal between the fuel pump and housing. As I posted originally, I had pulled it out then decided it wasn't the fuel pump. When I replaced it, the rubber gasket that fits over the "lip" of the tank bunched which in my estimation was allowing an air leak. I pulled the fuel pump again (EXTREMELY EASY JOB) and double checked it. It had been bunched as I thought so I straightened it out making sure it was firmly down on the lip of the tank before putting the pump back in place and tightening the plastic ring that secures it. That was the problem with the trouble code.
Now, all you professed experts didn't even think of that. Hmm, that surprises me! I guess some old fart with a lift and some tools is a better mechanic than you parts replacers that call yourselves mechanics.
